Christmas for Crossroads

Crossroads-Logo-Stacked-Color (2)
On December 6, 2024, a small group of Nardin Park folks are putting on a Christmas party for 300 clients of Crossroads, a social service agency in Detroit. It will be held at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church from 11 o’clock to 3 o’clock.
Crossroads runs the only soup kitchen available on Sundays in the city of Detroit.
We want to provide a sitdown meal, entertainment, presents, and a lot of fun for these people, who are some of the most disadvantaged underserved and under housed people in the city.
We need a lot of help with this project. We need donations in money and goods and volunteers to accomplish this project.
Volunteers are needed to solicit goods, including food, to wrap presents, to register participants, to set up the dining room, to serve the dinner and greet the people, etc.
We need individuals, but we also need groups and corporations, etc., to make this really happen.
We have set up a gift list on Amazon. Items range from $3.97 to $90. You could buy one item or you could gather a group of people to buy some of the larger items. Right now the list contains mainly toiletry items. We are hoping for a group to join us to provide clothing. We also need $10 McDonald’s gift cards.
We need money to pay for food, not donated, and other items, such as tote bags, that we would like to provide. If you want to donate money, you can send a check to Nardin Park United Methodist Church, 29887 W. 11 mile Road , Farmington Hills, MI 48336, with a notation on the check that it is is it for C4C 24. You will receive a donation receipt for tax purposes, if you request one.
If you wish to donate toiletries, please go to Amazon and search for registry and gifts. Search for Christmas for Crossroads as the event and for Mary Sue Lutz as the registrant.
Please share this as many times as you can in any way you can. Start with sharing it on Facebook and share it every few weeks, as people don’t always receive every post you make. Feel free to add a personal message to encourage people to help us.
We are also collecting calendars for 2025. If you receive too many or see them for free in stores. please pick up one and save them all. I gave out about 30 of them out this year and they were greatly appreciated!
Please contact Mary Sue Lutz through Facebook for any questions or to sign up to volunteer.
Please help this project become reality.
Thank you for any help you can give us!!
