Nursery Care Provider | Nardin Park UMC

Position Objective:
The nursery care worker provides care for children ages 0-5 under the direction of the Nursery Coordinator. The care worker will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 0-5 during the 9 am and 11 am Sunday services. The ideal candidate will have experience in childcare, strong communication skills, and a passion for working with young children.

Key Responsibilities:
- provide childcare for children ages 0-5 during both Sunday services (9 and 11 am). This requires arrival 30 minutes prior to service start and clean up time following the service (approximately 30 minutes).

- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming nursery environment for children and families.
- Implement age-appropriate activities and programming for children in the nursery.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements for childcare facilities.
- Complete records and documentation related to attendance, diaper changing, and incident reports.
- Communicate inventory and supply needs to the Nursery Coordinator.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including those related to child protection and safety.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2 years of experience in childcare.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with parents, caregivers, and staff.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Knowledge of age-appropriate activities and programming for young children.
- Ability to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and obtain necessary clearances and certifications as required by state and local regulations.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position, with approximately 4-5 hours per week required. Additional paid opportunities may become available depending on meeting schedules and rentals. The schedule will vary based on the needs of the organization and may include evenings and weekends.
