5th Annual Farmington Area Juneteenth Celeb ff

Let’s learn about Juneteenth and celebrating Blackness.

The Farmington Community Library partnered with the First African Methodist Episcopal (FAME) Church of Farmington Hills to record picture book readings in the spring of 2020. These books celebrate Juneteenth and Black lives.

On Monday, June 12th, Kathryn Bough, Rev. Dr. Patricia Coleman-Burns from First AME, and Irene Lietz from Conversations on Race went before the Farmington Hills City Council Board and accepted the award for the Proclamation of June 19th as Juneteenth from the board. They were able to introduce themselves, and Kathryn represented Nardin Park Church. The Mayor had wonderful things to say about our church.
