Beechview Literacy Project

In the Fall of 2025, Nardin Park renewed its partnership with Beechview Elementary School. Each week, eight wonderful and dedicated members of Nardin Park travel to Beechview Elementary to serve as classroom literacy tutors. While meeting and studying with the children, the volunteers have focused on supporting reading skills in children in grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade. In order to further support this literacy initiative, Nardin Park will be purchasing books to add to each of the classroom lending libraries.

There is a table in Mercer Hall filled with tags, each containing the name of a book that a teacher has requested. Please select a tag, purchase the book, and return it to the church (along with the tag) on or before Wednesday, March 11. We will then deliver the books to Beechview Elementary the following week. This is a great opportunity to continue supporting children in our community. Thank you!
