Bike Ministry '26

Thank you, NPUMC, for your generous support of the bike ministry, helping children in our community who don’t have bikes.

In 2025, we gave 37 bikes to kids in our schools who had never owned a new bike. We also provided 17 bikes to children identified by Operation Common Good.

This year, Bike Ministry is planning an event for foster children at Methodist Children’s Village. We are collecting children’s bikes and donations to purchase new bike helmets and bike locks for kids 7-10 years old who have never had a bike. If you can donate, please drop a check to us at Nardin Park UMC, and in the memo line, indicate “Bike ministry”.

The Bike Ministry now has another arm of service. Sameritas has approached us and requested bikes for some of their clients. Sameritas is an organization that connects with documented immigrants for five years after they have been admitted into the USA. Sameritas’ clients are requesting adult bikes that could be used for transportation to help ease the burden of getting to/from work, grocery shopping, etc. As there is someone available to help with bike repairs, all bikes will be accepted.

If you are spring cleaning or have a bike that is not being used, please consider donating to the Bike Ministry. The ability to have reliable transportation and a way to connect with friends and neighbors is a deeply meaningful experience. If you are able to donate, we are deeply grateful for your generosity.

Please contact Pat Lange to arrange for a pick-up, or, if you are able, please bring the bike to church. If you have any questions or need Pat’s number, please contact the church office. Thank you for sharing this message with friends and neighbors and helping support the Bike Ministry in our community.
