Making Masks at Home
Masks for all are a part of the new normal and are now required to be worn in all buildings and public spaces. Here is how you can be a part of this new vital ministry:
Fabric face masks with filter pockets
Do you want to help provide masks for our congregation and community? We are mobilizing home-sewing of fabric face masks with filter pockets. There are many ways you can help!
- Do you have a sewing machine and basic sewing skills? Directions and supply kits are available
- Do you have extra supplies to donate? A contact-less drop box is available under the portico at the sanctuary (east ) entrance of the church.
- ¼” elastic (for ear straps)
- Shoelaces (for ties)
- Pipe cleaners or 16-gauge crafting wire
- Cotton quilting fabric (tightly woven – minimum size 7.5” x 15”)
- Small zip lock bags for secure storage after masks are sewn and cleaned
- Deliver finished masks to those sheltering at home and unable to travel
Contact Amy Dowell at amy@dowell.ws or 248-595-5432, if you would like to sew or are able to deliver.
Do you need a face mask?
