Many ways to help your community
Here at Nardin Park Church we do not want to forget our mission to Do Good & Show Love, especially during this time. Thank you for the ways many of you are already helping your neighbors, family and friends.
We want to make sure that our church family and our local community is cared for during this time, so we have some ways you can help starting today. I’m sure there will be even more in the weeks to come.
Emergency Relief Fund Donations: Many people in our congregation work in places that are now closed. Small businesses, restaurant personnel, gyms, trainers, hair dressers, movie theater employees, sports personnel, they are all not working right now. For the most part they are hourly employees and if they don’t work, they don’t get paid. We want to be able to help when people run out of funds for necessities.
We are asking for a special offering to help fill this need when it arises in our congregation.
Here are the ways you can give:
- Write a check and mail it to the church. Make your check out to Nardin Park UMC and put Emergency Relief Fund in the memo line. Mail it into the church at 29887 W. 11 Mile Rd. Farmington Hills, Mi. 48336
- Use our Online Giving Options: We have multiple ways you can give online. You can make one time or recurring donations. Choose the ER Fund (Emergency Relief) when you make your donation. Information about giving online is on the homepage of our website or click HERE
- NEW! Text to give: Text how much you would like to give for the Emergency Relief fund (“ER”) to the phone number 844-231-1970. Text the whole dollar amount and then the letters “ER” to the number listed above–you will then be directed to another screen where you will input your credit card information.

Grocery Shoppers: We are looking for people who are willing to run to the grocery store for people who are at risk and cannot go out in public. These folks are staying at home to be healthy. If they need a grocery run, we’d like to have volunteers ready to help. If you are willing to be a shopper, please email Kristin Ahrens, kahrens@dcds.edu, and let her know. Thank you Kristin for being willing to be the go to person for this ministry!
Focus Hope: The Next Focus Hope food delivery is on April 11th: Four more drivers are needed to help deliver food to seniors in the Pontiac area. These are people who are in the at risk population and need food. If you or your group have a vehicle large or small and have 2 hours on a Saturday morning please contact Robert Davis at 248-320-7147.
Thank you for your generosity and care for others. Helping others is how we are going to get through this together and it is what Jesus calls us to do as well.
